PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Two Wesley Chapel teenagers died Monday night when an SUV crashed into a retention pond and sank.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 10:30 p.m. on Estancia Boulevard at San Romano Drive.
Troopers said a 17-year-old boy was driving and lost control of the 2003 Toyota Sequoia “for unknown reasons.”
A 17-year-old girl was in the passenger’s seat.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office dive team was able to locate the vehicle several hours later.
The victims’ names have not been released.
