PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers can expect extended closures due to an overturned fuel tanker that happened in Pasco County on Wednesday morning, officials with Pasco County Fire Rescue said.

The spill happened just north of the Bellamy Brothers Boulevard and Johnston Road intersection in the Darby community. Traffic from the south is being routed onto Johnston Road, according to officials.

Update: Firefighters and hazmat teams are working to offload the remaining fuel from the tanker. Once emptied, crews will turn the tanker upright and tow it away. Road and bridge crews will then need to inspect the roadway. Expect lanes to remain closed for an extended time. https://t.co/MNLZPtJxLQ pic.twitter.com/tiK1HHzsN2
