HOLIDAY, Fla. — A couple in Holiday is lucky to be unhurt after a vehicle smashed into their home and just missed their bed as they slept.
It appears the driver went over a curb, through a yard, and then into the house on Elkhorn Boulevard early Sunday morning.
The residents, Shari and Rodney Bizier, say it happened at about 4:30 a.m. as they were sleeping.
They said the car just missed their bed.
“My head was very close,” Shari Bizier said. “All of the sudden, I hear a bang, and I see everything flying.”
The crash even sparked a fire in the house.
The couple and their pets are physically OK.
The crash left extensive damage to the side of the Bizier’s home and bedroom. Troopers took the driver into custody.
The crash is under investigation.
